Makhalaneng Foundation (NPC) “The Foundation” is a Non-Profit Company registered in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008 with registration number 2022/378655/08.

 BACKGROUND

The Foundation has been operating informally since 2018. In 2022, it was registered as an NPC to ensure good governance and proper administration. The organisation was founded by a group of individuals who were born and raised in Makhalaneng Village, QwaQwa. They realised that Makhalaneng and neighbouring villages are in the state of despair due to poverty, unemployment, substance abuse and crime. The Foundation was founded to address some of these societal issues.

LEADERSHIP

The foundation’s leadership is made up of capable individuals from diverse backgrounds.
They were born and raised in QwaQwa, and they are passionate about the development and
wellbeing of the community.

MR MOLEFI TAKALO

CHAIR PERSON

Mr Takalo is a qualified social worker and CEO of Lifeline. He is passionate about community development. He started his career as a Social Worker at NICRO, he was later employed by Free State Department of Social Development. He held a number of positions including, Senior Social Worker, Assistance Manager and Social Work Manager amongst others. He is the Chairperson of the Foundation.

  • Management Advancement Programme (MAP) -University of Witwatersrand (Wits)
  • Programme in Leadership and Management Transformation (PLMT) – University of Witwatersrand (Wits)
  • B.Soc.Sc (Social Work) – University of the Free State (UFS)

MR SELLO SOKE

MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO

Mr Soke is a successful entrepreneur. He runs multiple businesses in recycling, waste management and transport and logistics. Mr Soke is avid about youth and women development. He is the Managing Director and CEO of the foundation. He is responsible for day to day running of the organisation.

  • National Diploma: Human Resource Management – Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT)

MANYATSA NKUTHA

DIRECTOR

  • Mr Nkutha is passionate about entrepreneur and enterprise development. He has been in this industry for over 20 years. He worked for a myriad of companies, including Standard Bank, FDC, SEDA, Business Partners, MEGA and sefa. He is a Director of the Foundation responsible for Finance and Corporate Governance.

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance – University of South Africa (UNISA)

Schools Shoes Project The foundation in partnership with Makhalaneng Primary school delivered shoes to over 100 learners.
